Field tests with chemical products to control tomatoe stem borer Collabismodes rhombifer Champ were conducted at Herrera and Los Santos provinces, since 1981 to 1984. The percentage of bored plants, the number of bores plant and yield (weight of fruits) was determinated to estimate the efectiveness in control. After four tests it was observed that permetrina (200 g i.a/ha), cipermetrina (6 g i.a./ha) and fenvalerato (5 g i.a./ha) had the best control and yields.
