INVENTORY OF PARASITOIDS OF Liriomyza spp. (DIPTERA: AGROMYZIDAE) ON POTATO, CERRO PUNTA, CHIRIQUI, PANAMA. 2002-2003.

Every year there are considerable losses at level of potato production in Cerro Punta. Within cultivation cycle is variable the added value that is resulting of controlling plagues and illnesses. So that were located three sectors dedicated to potato production, in Guadalupe, Entre Ríos and Cerro Punta center. Potato leaves were collected and samples were cultivated in the laboratory of the IDIAP in Cerro Punta and parasitoid species of Hymenoptera that infect Liriomyza spp. Were identified (Diptera: Agromyzidae), during one year. The results demonstrated that the most abundant species in decreasing order during the twelve months of sampling were: Oenonogastra microrhopalae Ashmead (Hymenoptera: Braconidae), Diglyphus isaea Walker (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae), Opius dissitus Muesebeck (Hymenoptera: Braconidae), Chrysocharis ignota Hansson (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae), Opius dimidiatus Ashmead (Hymenoptera: Braconidae), Diglyphus websteri Crawford (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae) and Opius sp. near to mandabularis Gahan. It also was concluded that the levels of parasitism average were 21.5 ± 17.1% at Guadalupe, 36.2 ± 37.3% at Entre Rios and 45.0 ± 44.8% at Cerro Punta center. Approximately, 73.3% (of 697 parasitoids) they emerged of the pupae, while 26.7% of the rest were larvals ectoparasitoids.
