Transnational Organized Crime (TOC) in South America. Regional responses

Considering the tendencies expressed in the realm of international security, as well as in regional integration in South America, the present article analyses the evolution of Transnational Organized Crime (TOC) in the region and the responses of countries in the context of ongoing integration processes. To this end, the article places special emphasis on initiatives proposed within the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR), among which the recent Ecuadorian proposal to establish a South American Criminal Court stands out.
