Geomatics as a support tool in the development of a spatiotemporal model for monitoring and analysis of bud rot and Rhynchophorus Palmarum : Tumaco (Nariño, Colombia) case study

Producers, with support from the national government, have replaced part of their plantations with the OxG hybrid, which is tolerant to the disease. However, the hybrid used for replanting, despite its tolerance, is being affected by the rapid spread of the inoculum and the large populations of insects feeding on diseased oil palm crops, in some cases abandoned. Cenipalma, through its Precision Agriculture Program, and in cooperation with oil palm growers of Tumaco, have proposed the construction of a sanitary buffer zone supported on Precision Agriculture technologies, to protect the OxG hybrid used for replanting, as well as the implementation of a monitoring system using temporal analysis models.
