Economics and engineering for integrated Bio Refineries: the investor's expectation

The changes in the US laws regarding biodiesel and renewable diesel point to a larger market for products derived from vegetable and animal materials than expected. Integrated processing facilities yield the higher returns and potentials for biorefineries allow owners and operators to enjoy returns on capital employed in excess of 15 percent in long term investments. Presentation covers technologies currently used, new technologies and plant operational costs. Capital costs are examined with an eye towards higher volumes in lower cost plants. Total market penetration for biodiesel and renewable diesel are discussed with final section on purity and quality controls.
