COVID-19 threatens to reduce university enrollment in the region

COVID-19 threatens to reduce university enrollment in the region. President of Universities Caribbean and Vice Chancellor of the University of the West Indies Professor Sir Hilary Beckles says that the COVID-19 pandemic will pose a threat to higher education in the region. Noting that the Caribbean currently records the lowest enrollment universities in the Western Hemisphere, he says that the pandemic threatens to reduce the region's figures even further. He urges university officials and stakeholders in the region to make every effort to prevent such a decline.
