Task Force on the Planning, Organisation and Implementation of Literacy Programme in the Caribbean
The purpose of the task force activity was to: 1) develop guidelines to assist with a) the integration of various agencies within a territory involved with literary activities, and b) the planning and development of projects on literacy that include specific strategies for dealing with i) the use of the mother tongue ii) the training of teachers for literacy activities, iii) the development and production of literacy materials, and (iv) the use of mass-media and multi-media techniques. 2) identify the activities to be undertaken, indicate the possible scope and sequence of activities, the design and strategies that can be considered for programme operation, the skills and training inputs needed and the role and functions of key persons.
