1. In Georgetown Guyana, 35 year Bharrat Jagdeo was sworn in as the youngest President of the country. In his acceptance speech Jagdeo outlined his vision for Guyana and extended a hand of friendship to the opposition who have been vocal in their condemnation of his appointment following the resignation by Janet Jagan due to poor health.
