Pan - The Musical Instrument of the Century

This article comments on the development of the steelpan, the only new musical instrument of the century. The contribution that black people (Africa's descendants) made towards the development of the steelpan are discussed. Pan, considered the early means of creative expression by the dispossessed, has come a long way from the discarded dustbin to an internationally accepted instrument.
