Dr. Cheddi Jagan has passed away in the early hours of Thursday morning at a Washington hospital. The news was broken in Georgetown this morning by acting President Sam Hinds who was sworn in this morning as Guyana’s new executive president. Next, in this 1963 interview obtained from the BBC World Service Archives, Dr Jagan talks about his early life and Warren Gordon traces the latter part of it.
