Heat exchange and energetic balance during exercise in highlanders and lowlanders at sea level and high altitude
This study was designer to determine the effects of changes in both cutaneous circulation (15) and kinetics of oxygen uptake (20) at high altitude on mechanisms of heat exchange during exercise. From a theoretical point of view, determination of heat balance by partitional calorimetry is an interesting complement to metabolic balance that has been studied comparatively many times at low (SL) and high (HA) altitudes (5, 10, 18) on lowlanders during acclimatization and in highlanders (14,21).
