Densidad de la madera de tres taxones de Pinus spp. provenientes de un ensayo de mejoramiento genético

For structural uses, it is important that the wood meets the rigidity, resistance and density standards established in the regulations. The objective of this work was to determine the density of the wood of 3 taxa of Pinus sp. belonging to a genetic improvement trial. Six specimens per 23-year-old taxon were randomly selected, from which slices were extracted to determine apparent density. No statistically significant differences were found between taxa for basic density, stationary density and anhydrous density. The trend was of higher values of densities was for the taxon F1 × PCH.
