Determinación de la presencia de Quadrastichus mendeli, controlador biológico de Leptocybe invasa Fisher & La Salle (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae) en Montecarlo, Misiones
The presence of the parasitoid Quadrastichus mendeli was determined in plantations of Eucalyptus grandis x E. camaldulensis in Montecarlo, Misiones. This insect is an hymenoptera (Eulophidae) and in some countries it is used as biological controller of the gall wasp Leptocybe invasa. In Argentina was introduced spontaneously. Population studies and levels of parasitism where carry out and confirmed the presence of Q. mendeli during the entire period of emergence of its host with population peaks during the spring months. It is considered that Q. mendeli is established, being an important agent for the population control of the gall wasp L. invasa
