Seed Partnerships Characterisation Instrument : supporting the establishment and monitoring of SeedNL partnerships
WCDI was engaged by SeedNL to support the development of a partnership’s characterisation instrument. The team used some of the newest insights into effective partnerships, and the extensive seed sector expertise available at WCDI. The instrument was tested through discussions with national and international partners of Ethiopia-Netherlands Seed Partnership (ENSP) in Ethiopia, the Nigeria-Netherlands Seed Partnership (NSSP) and associated programmes in Nigeria, and the Integrated Seed Sector Development (ISSD) Sahel programme in Mali, and several seed sector development programmes in Uganda. The aim was to test the instrument for a diversity of partnerships designs. In addition to characterising the instrument, the report highlights the lessons learnt from the all the partnerships.
