Soil microbiome amplicon sequencing on different fertilizer treatments
Collected bulk and rhizosphere samples in two different growth stages of summer barley (Hordeum vulgare) in two distinct soiltypes – peaty and sandy - in the Netherlands, with different types of soil management. Four major organismal groups were assessed: bacteria and fungi - representing the primary decomposers - and protists and nematodes, two major grazers on the bacterial and fungal communities. Variable ribosomal DNA regions were selected for the characterization of each of the four organismal groups.
