Stikstoflevering uit onvergiste en vergiste runderdrijfmest na zodebemesting van grasland op zware zeeklei

This study investigated the effect of anaerobic digestion of cattle slurry on nitrogen uptake by grassland that had been injected with the slurry. Raw and anaerobically digested cattle slurry were injected into grassland on heavy sea clay at the beginning of March and at the end of June 2003. The nitrogen yield of a number of consecutive cuts was determined. For both dates anaerobically digested slurry applied at a rate of 30-33 tonnes ha-1 resulted in a significantly higher nitrogen yield of the first cut. In subsequent cuts there was no significant difference between raw slurry and anaerobically digested slurry.
