Final report

Organized by the Polish National Commission for UNESCO, this international Conference examined characteristics of lifelong education occuring under the specific conditions of big industrial establishments. Particular attention was given to the dynamic processes taking place in technology, economy and in social sciences. These processes are seen as determining the development of conceptual schemes and programmes of lifelong education, particularly with regard to on the job training. Issues related to workers education and the participation of teachers in various forms of lifelong education are discussed, as well as the effectiveness of the lifelong education process. The main difficulties identified are insufficient interaction between different levels of education, lack of adequate funding and shortage of qualified teaching staff.
