Recurrent education: annotations
This third selection of 260 abstracts of publications on recurrent education from IBE/UIEH, ILO, and ERIC computer bases updates the editor's previous issues to December 1980. The aim was to provide continuity of information on the development and current status of recurrent education in developing and developed countries. Selection was on the basis of whether an abstract presented a possible contribution towards a 'global' system of education, described an effort to co-ordinate formal and nonformal education, extended the present concept of formal education, focused on concern for greater equity and efficiency in education, emphasized the self-directed learning of the individual by stimulating motivation especially in the so far disenfranchised and disinterested, or specifically provided for alternating education with work and leisure activities, etc. Four significant trends are indicated in the author's introduction
