The Teacher's intervention in the process of permanent education

The bulletin contains official reports on teacher participation in lifelong education activities prepared by teacher associations in Australia, France, Israel, Ivory Coast, Luxemburg, Switzerland and Yugoslavia - The reports are based on responses to questionnaires and describe mainly existing educational practice and educational policies in the area in question. In spite of the differences in many details of national structures and practices, for instance in the area of adult education, there was total agreement that the teachers' organizations responding to the questionnaire were in favour of the adoption of lifelong education as a principle guiding teacher education and as a goal for practising teachers. Measures suggested for making this latter possible included many forms of inservice teacher education including correspondence courses, part time training, teacher seminars and various forms of nonformal education supported by educational leave
