Education of a national minority - a case of Indian Muslims

This document studies educational problems of minority groups of Moslems in India - Chapter one discusses the need for such a study, also the design, locale and data collection tools used. Chapter two discusses minority role and problems associated with, and characteristics of, the Moslem minority in India. Chapter three gives a brief history of the Moslem community and background of educational development. Chapter four deals with data analysis of information on student attitudes collected from primary school students, secondary school students and college students. Chapter five analyses data on teacher attitudes obtained from principals and primary school teachers and secondary school teachers. Chapter six classifies data obtained from public leaders, social workers and educationists on problems of education for Moslems and family attitudes towards education. Chapter seven lists the findings of the study. Given to support these findings are statistical tables and appendices.
