Population education in Asia: a synthesis

A review of population education in the Asian region, with an emphasis on programmes integrated in primary school curriculum and secondary school curriculum - The paper describes the general development of population education in Asia as a region and identifies the common elements of the various national programmes. Topics covered include problems of conceptualization, teaching methods and content, teacher improvement, and research and programme evaluation. Accomplishments to date are assessed against the background of stated objectives and likely developments of the future discussed.
