Draft final report evaluating the first cycle of a functional literacy pilot projects in Sudan - surveys programmes in handicrafts, industrial occupations, engineering education, and agricultural occupations using a variety of evaluation methods. Variable dropout rate but satisfactory literacy achievement reported. Womens education results better than men's. Technical education achievement good in engineering programmes but uneven elsewhere. Interesting results in changing attitudes
