Official report from UK for the 2nd Conference of Ministers of Education of European Member States convened by UNESCO on the theme of higher education - describes the system, especially different types of institutions: universities, open colleges, technical colleges and other opportunities for the education in the context of lifelong education. Access to higher education is facilitated by correspondence courses, part time training and the granting of fellowships. The report mentions teacher education as part of the higher education system. Refers also to international cooperation and assistance to developing countries.
