Official report from Sudan for UNESCO World Conference on adult education in relation to national policies mainly for the eradication of illiteracy - emphasizes the close link between literacy and community development and describes the educational legislation on literacy now under way. The report gives statistical tables on the development of literacy classes and other adult education programmes in the last ten years as well as on financial support. adult educators and community leaders are trained at the National Community Development Training Centre. A description of the university extension programme of the University of Khartoum is provided
