Report by the Director-General on the budgetary situation of the Organization in 1986-1987; supplementary estimates
Executive Board paper submitting supplementary estimates for 1986-1987 to cover the deficit which will result from the fact that savings due to the lapse factor are lower than the figure foreseen in the budget and to take into account the effects of currency fluctuation, proposes measures to cover this deficit and which concern staff turnover, currency fluctuation, authority to incur expenditure and procedures for financing supplementary estimates, also provides a summary of practices used by the UN and major UN agencies for dealing with unforeseen expenditure due to currency fluctuation and other factors and information on surpluses available to reduce amounts of supplementary contributions to be paid to cover the total estimated deficit of USD39,60,000 under Part VIII of the budget
