Address by Amadou-Mahtar M'Bow, Director-General of UNESCO, to the International Conference on Sports Boycott against South Africa; UNESCO House, 16 May 1985
Speech recalling, on the occasion of the above Conference, organized under the auspices of the UN Special Committee against Apartheid, that the Intergovernmental Committee for Physical Education and Sport adopted a recommendation in March 1983 on the organization and staging of international sports competitions condemning participation in sports events organized in countries practising policies of apartheid or involving the participation of persons or teams representing such countries
