Meeting proceedings on questions regarding the academic teaching personnel of technological institutes providing engineering education in developing countries, with special mention of Kenya, the Ivory Coast, Uganda, Zaire, Tunisia, Turkey, India, Thailand and Malaysia - discusses recruitment of both local and expatriate staff, their technical teacher training, the need for professional training in industry and the time required for the doctoral degree, also considers student selection, various degrees awarded and staff working conditions, examines curriculum development, life-long education and refresher courses for teaching staff, including their training abroad and post-graduate courses, provides educational statistics, including enrolment ratios
