Telecommunications development in Africa
At its Sixth Session the Commission, by its Resolution 106 (Vl), took note of document E/CN.14/249. This document discussed the problems of developing a telecommunications network in Africa, and described the action taken up to then by the ECA and the ITU. The Commission requested the Executive Secretary to -continue transaction, in cooperation with the ITU, and listed a number of fields in which it felt special measures could be taken. The present report, which has been prepared jointly by the ITU and the Executive Secretary, provides information on the progress made to date.
