Requirements of skilled personnel for industrialization and their implications in terms of education and training in Africa

The purpose of this document is to try and define some national as well as regional or sub-regional measures whereby African countries can prevent their industrial development from being handicapped by any lack of skilled workers. The study will first deal with the situation of skilled manpower in Africa. It will then outline the need for skilled manpower under national industrial development targets. An indicative programme of action designed to cope with the consequences of industrialization's skilled manpower requirements, in terms of education and training, will form a suitable conclusion to the study.
