Report on activities undertaken by ECA with respect to the feasibility study for a Multinational shipping company for the Countries of Eastern Africa, the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean

The purpose of the study is to determine the economic, technical and administrative feasibility of the establishment of a coastal shipping company to be jointly owned by the following countries:The Comoros, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Seychelles, Somalia, the Sudan, the United Republic of Tanzania, and Uganda (hereafter referred to as "the countries") and to make recommendations as to the most practical and coast-effective method of establishing such a company.
