Analysis of the impact on Africa's external debt of debt relief initiatives taken up until now
The present study examines the African debt situation and analyses the impact of the proposals for alleviating the obligations imposed by debt servicing. It contains a clear assessment of the impact of reduction initiatives on: (a) bilateral debt (b) multilateral debt (c) private debt. This analysis is preceded by a survey of the dimensions, characteristics and structure of African indebtedness.
