Restructuring and revitalization of the United Nations : strengthening the Economic Commission for Africa to face the challenges of the 1990s
The treaty establishing the African Economic community (AEC), initialed by the Heads of State and Government at the organization of African unity (OAU) summit in Abuja, Nigeria on 3 June 1991, is the realization of Article II(2) of the Charter of the OAU which had been signed in Addis Ababa on 25 May 1963.
