Remarks by Ms. Jennifer Kargbo at the 16th Conference of Aviation and Allied Business Leadership Conference. Ms. Kargbo, on her remarks highlighted that, the theme chosen for this conference, Air Transport in Africa: The Challenge of Leadership, is very appropriate and timely because of a number of challenges impacting on African carriers. In addition to leadership, need to remain mindful of the fact that although the recent global financial and economic crisis is improving steadily, vigilance is needed. , the Yamoussoukro Decision took into account the differences in the level of air transport development in various African countries. ECA will continue to work closely with the African Union Commission, the African Development Bank (AfDB), the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC), the African Airlines Association, (AFRAA), and others to assist member States, the regional economic communities and the airline industry in the implementation of their programmes and policies in the aviation sector.
