Summary and presentation notes of 1997 ECA study on intercountry cooperation for integrated development of water resources of the Zambezi river basin

The Working Group on Water (WGW) of the United Nations System-wide Special initiative on Africa (UNSIA) is co-chaired by the World Bank (WB) and the United UNEP). At its 1996 October meeting at Paris, the WGW identified four African countries (Ethiopia, Mali, Mozambique and Uganda) and the Zambezi river basin (at ECA’s Suggestion) for concerted actions by the UN agencies in the initial phase of implementation of the provisions of UNSIA.
