South African in southern Africa and the strategy of imperialism

The state of South Africa is by far the most significant industrial power on the continent of Africa. It produces more than 3/4 of the continents output of coal, generates and consumes double the electrical power of the entire continent and within its boundaries can boast to hold over 50 per cent of the total number of automobiles. All this is based on one of the most insidiously oppressive and extremely unequal social and political systems of the contemporary world. The economic and strategic issues dominate the "unholy alliance" a significant cementing dimension is provided by the practice of racial discrimination along with the doctrine of apartheid. A recent analysis of the South African situation as. it .specifically impinges on the interests of the United States concludes with the following comments and as such providing a perspective to be carefully appraised for the immediate future of the people of Southern Africa.
