Multinational corporations and Africa

This paper attempts to analyze, in a very schematic way, capital was inserted in Africa and the subsequent development of peripheral capitalism therein. It will therefore deal at first with the genesis and evolution of multinational capital in Africa taking into account the roles played by various economic and political institutions, particularly the trading companies, the multinational corporations and the colonial and post-colonial states, in the accumulation of capital through the exploitation of Africa’s resources and labour.
