Africa: the past three decades - an evaluation

This paper examine the past three decades development evaluation of Africa. In this regard the paper also presenting the overall colonial states of African countries that economic history and development within that three decades. According to the Economic Commission for Africa in the early 1970s the over all economic performance of the 41 independent developing African countries as measured by the output of goods and services continue to give cause for concern and good reason. In 1972 the over all rate of growth was only 5.4% and an even poorer 4.0% in 1973. In per capita terms, the rate of growth for 1971-1972 was only 2.6%. In the are a of public finance, it is superfluous to show that the budgets of the central governments of most African countries continue to exhibit growth tendencies.
