"The United Nations must renew and strengthen its commitment to work in-the economic and social fields as an end in itself, 'and as the means of attending to the sources of conflicts", he says. Such efforts can build enduring foundations for q secure, just and creative era for all humanity. However, this great project cannot, be fulfilled without a continuing commitment to it on the part of all nations". He also emphasizes the need for resources to be made available to support a multidimensional approach, in view of the trend towards simultaneous United Nations involvement in both peace-keeping and humanitarian aspects of a particular situation.
