Draft report: thirty-third session of the commission/twenty-fourth meeting of the conference of ministers/seventh conference of African ministers of finance
Conference of Ministers and seventh Conference of African Ministers of Finance was held in the United Nations Conference Centre, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 6 to 8 May 1999. The meeting was formally opened by H.E. Mr. Meles Zenawi, Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. The Secretary-General of the United Nations sent a message that was read to the Conference. Statements were also delivered at the opening ceremony by Mr. K.Y. Amoako, Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), and H.E. Ambassador Vijay S. Makhan, Assistant Secretary-General of the Organization of African Unity (OAU).
