Governance cluster: report to the 11th session of the regional coordination mechanism (RCM-Africa): draft

The UNDP/ECA Joint Governance Initiatives of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Regional Governance Programme for Africa in collaboration with the African Union Commission (AUC) and the NEPAD Planning and Coordinating Agency (NPCA) organized an Annual Retreat for the Governance Cluster of the Regional Coordination Mechanism for Africa (RCM-Africa). The objectives of the meeting were: To discuss governance priorities/programmes of the ADC, NPCA and RECs; To identify key results and joint activities in support of AUC, NPCA and RECS for 2010; To consider progress on the development of the Cluster Business Plan and the TORs for the Governance Cluster. The second meeting of the Governance Cluster will be held in advance of the 11th Session of the RCM. Some the main outcomes of this second meeting will include approval of the Cluster Business Plan 2011/2012, agreement on the Cluster's Annual Work Plan (AWP) for 2011, endorsement of the revised TORs for the Cluster, approval of the Cluster's Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) strategy, and exploration of a joint resource mobilization strategy.
