ECA and CODESRIA sign collaboration agreement

The Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) and the Dakar-based Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA) have entered into a collaboration agreement, which will foster their objectives to transform into more rigorous and responsive centers of excellence in support of Africa's transformative agenda. The collaboration will extend interdisciplinary research and promote regional and continental engagement in order to support the transformation agenda spearheaded by ECA in industrialization and CODESRIA in knowledge. ECA is one of the five regional commissions of the United Nations with the mandate to promote the economic and social development of its member states, foster intra-regional integration, and promote international cooperation for Africa's development. CODESRIA is a research institution whose aim is to promote, facilitate and disseminate social science research in Africa and to create a community in which this can take place through cooperation and collaboration with African and non-African institutions and international organizations.
