ECA and partners hold policy dialogue on intra-African trade with Addis Ababa's diplomatic community

Reviewing the challenges facing intra-African trade, ARIA IV was an important document which should be in the hands of every African academician, researcher and student, so as to give them the right information on the integration process on our continent. While unanimously commending the timeliness and the quality of ARIA IV, by empowering people and by triggering a change of mind-set so that we will value our own products and consume them. Discussions also highlighted the importance of a real political will in an environment where countries are reluctant to give up parts of their sovereignty as a requirement to achieve the integration goal. Concerns were also raised about the lack of adequate infrastructure, the traceability of informal trade, and the situation of fragile states in the overall integration process.
