Opening address by H. E. Ato Tamirat Layne, Prime Minister of the Transitional Government of Ethiopia to the 61st session of the council of Ministers of the OAU. H. E. Ato Tamirat on his remarks highlighted that, this Session of the Council is by tradition devoted 10 examining in depth administrative. Financial and budgetary matters of the Organization. As such, it is indeed a very important session, for what you are called upon to do is to attend 10 the very well-being of cur continental Organization. Our Organization has since that significant decision been active in the area of conflict prevention and resolution in our continent. The experience that the OAU has started to accumulate and the good work that it has started to perform in this regard can never be minimized. Issues relating to the economic integration of Africa, first at sub regional level, to be followed at the continental level, are thus issues to which the OAU should continue to give greater attention.
