Statement by Incoming Chair of Bureau at the Meeting of the Committee of Experts of the 5th Joint Annual Meetings of the AU Conference of Ministers of Economy and Finance and ECA Conference of Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development. the chair, on his remarks highlighted that, This conference has become the premier forum for policymakers from the finance, planning and economic development ministries as well as central bank Governors to gather once year to exchange ideas and collectively find solutions to the enormous developmental challenges our great continent. Stimulating faster, quality and sustainable economic growth in Africa is essential for poverty reduction. Financing the implementation of poverty reduction strategies will require both domestic and external resources. African countries would have to aggressively mobilize domestic resources to finance pro-poor growth polices, including taking steps to stem illicit capital flows from the continent.
