Progress report on implementation of approved Lusaka-Based MULPOC work programme 1979, and related activities
The fourth ECA conference of Ministers and Thirteenth Session of the Commission adopted resolution 311(XII) calling for the establishment of multinational programming and operational centres (MULPOCS) in Africa. The resolutions also stipulate that the meetings of MULPOC policy organs should be convened annually to review and evaluate, among other things, the implementation of the work programmes and to determine new priorities. The primary objectives of such centres being the implementation of co-operative projects and arrangements in Africa which will ultimately promote multinational economic co-operation at sub-regional levels with the view to creating sub-regional common market or customs union as a step towards regional common market.
