Policy uses of household budget surveys
The present report is intended as a supplement to the background document on "Household Survey Data Applications and Analysis" (E/ECA/SH/l5). Both producers and users of household. survey data have recognized that the absence of a comprehensive document on household survey data applications and analysis was one of the main reasons for the low demand for such data in several African countries. The aim of this report is to provide a technical manual for filling the above need. The report focuses on the policy analyses which can be performed with household budget studies only rather than on the policy uses of all the data collected by the household survey programme.
