The lectures covered the following areas: elements of development economics; meaning and definition of planning; spectrum of economic plans, objectives of development planning, rationale for planning in African countries, framework and structure of planning models, functions and uses of aggregate and main sector models in planning, static and Dynamic Input-Output Models Linear Programming and Activity Analysis, organization and methodology of development planning and national experiences with development planning in Africa.
