The first meeting of the Advisory board of the Mombasa-Lagos Trans-African Highway Authority was held in 13 angui, Central African Republic on 25 July 1980. The first meeting of the Advisory Board of the Mombasa-Lagos Trans-African Highway Authority was preceded by a meeting of experts who examined progress made on the Trans-African Highway, the implementation of recommendations to facilitate inter-state travel, the programme of work designed for the Trans-African Highway Authority as well as reports on the African Highway Code and the African Highway Association.
