Report of the tenth meeting of the executive committee, Addis Ababa, 12-16 November 1973

In the course of its recent work, the Economic and Social.Council had launched an urgent appeal to Governments and international organizations to come to the aid of the drought-stricken countries. The Council further called upon Member States to make additional contributions either bilaterally or multilaterally to enable Zambia to overcome its present economic difficulties and to enhance its capacity to implement fully the United Nations policy of sanctions. The Council invited the organizations of the United Nations system to provide all possible assistance to the Government of Tunisia in view of the loss of life-and the ravages; caused by the recent natural'disasters. It called upon Governments-and organizations-further, to extend their assistance to the Government of the Sudan in its efforts towards, the normalization of the situation of the returnees in southern Sudan.
