Suggestions for implementation of POPIN-Africa
The consultative meeting on POPIN-Africa held in Addis Ababa 14-16 June 1982 endorsed the idea of establishing POPIN-Africa to operate through a decentralized system and have a coordinating unit at ECA in Addis Ababa the main sub regional centers to participate in the project are the population information and documentation system for Africa (PIDSA)in Accra institute de formation et de recherché demographique (IFORD) in Yaoundé the Sahel institute in Bamako and the Cairo Demographic center in Cairo (CDC).government and non government institutions dealing with population information and related activities will be contacted to join the network.
